Party Poker review
A few years ago, Party Poker used to be the biggest online poker operation. One of the first online poker rooms on the scene, it took full advantage of the poker boom of 2003-2004. It player base largely made up of Americans, it was considered the fish-pool that simply couldn’t be exhausted. What tons upon tons of poker sharks couldn’t achieve though, was taken care of by a piece of legislation: the 2006 UIGEA. In the wake of this infamous law, Party Poker lost the majority of its players and was forced to turn its focus towards the European market. From industry front runner, Party was soon relegated to a medium size, middle of the pack operation which had little special to offer its players. Its aging software overhauled a few years ago, the room bounced back from the edge of extinction and managed to reclaim its former glory to a certain degree.
The soft nature of the competition has been preserved somewhat, although it’s still a far cry from the “golden age”.
The quality of the software has been improved radically. As a matter of fact, for a while there, Party Poker’s software was the best in the industry before being overtaken by the newer developments of the competitors.
The sign-up bonus offered by Party Poker is a 100% match on player deposits, up to $/EUR/GBP 100. For those who make their deposits in US dollars the redemption requirements are 6X (they need to generate 6 times as many FPPs as the amount of their bonus).
